Who is NOT a candidate for LASIK laser eye surgery?
While many people are candidates for LASIK, some people may not. Individuals who have a corneal diseases that causesa progressive weakening of the cornea, such as keratoconus, orhave a corneal surface disease, may not be appropriate candidates for LASIK. Patients with thinner corneas, certain immune diseases or collagen vascular diseases, may not be appropriate candidates.
My eye doctor told me I am not a candidate- can I still come in?
Definitely. Feel free to come in for a second opinion on whether you are a laser vision correction candidate or not.
Many times, if your eye doctor does not specialize in LASIK or perform the surgery often, it is possible he does not haveall of the instruments to determine whether you are a candidate or may not know.Come in for a free consultation to discuss!
I've had previous eye surgery, am I a candidate for LASIK laser eye surgery?
Maybe. Patients who have undergone previous eye surgery, such as radial keratotomy, may be suitable candidates for LASIK to improve their vision further. It depends on what you have had done, your results and your current status. Come in for an examination.
Am I candidate if I have corneal scarring from other surgeries?
